What is this blog for?

Yes, I am lucky enough to realize one of my dream: doing a world-tour traveling Eastward, crossing about 20 countries during 7 months :-))
This blog tries to share part of this personal experience, through pictures, descriptions and thoughts. This is also to keep a track for me to remember later on ;)
Enjoy and do not hesitate to comment!

Driving to Namibia / Fish River Canyon

Monday April 15th

Another early wake-up morning (I start to get used to it... for a change!) to go kayaking on the Orange River between South Africa and Namibia. Quite nice and relaxing, great landscapes, nice birds to look around and a refreshing water exercise under the hot sun. I'll get some pics about this later as they are on the waterproof camera of a friend.

Afterwards, direction Namibia, with papers this time ;-), where we will be for a bit more than a week. We need to drive more than 600 Km, it will be a long day on those dirt roads... hopefully the scenery is catchy and time passes faster than expected.

Part of the team enjoying a needed break to repair a bit the truck suffering on the dirt roads...

End afternoon we arrive for sunset at the Fish River canyon, 3rd or 4th biggest canyon in the world (from what they say ;). Not as impressive as the US Grand Canyon that I had seen more than 10 years ago, but very very dry... almost no green / plants  in all the area, you don't want to stay blocked here for any reason...
