Flying to New-Zeland made me feel like going to the end of the world... at least the far bottom right of the world-map for an European ;-) And indeed, once landed and localized on the map... the world-map here looks like very different!!
While NZ was clearly a country I wanted to see during this world-tour, it wasn't a key destination I was looking for... However, meeting great kiwis guys and hearing so much about the country landscape had changed my mindset, and I was really eager to see this beautiful "land of the white clouds" :-)
Arriving late afternoon, I cannot see Auckland by day, but go enjoying few beers with Frenchies I had connected with on Couchsurfing (to go support France rugby game the next day), and the 1st feeling of the city are nice, with the 1st walk showing well the great downtown skyline.

On Saturday, clouds have moved and a clear blue sky and sun await me to
discover the city.. Great catch! Starting from the waterfront, I notice it is quite developed and very link to the sea, which a big industrial port, large decks, and many sailing boats away and in the port.

And you cannot miss the great link Auckland has with the sailing world, and the famous America Cup which was hold here few times. The marina area, with its nice boats, relaxed piers, shops and restaurants is very enjoyable. It does also give the nice skyline view already experienced at night.

On
Saturday evening, big game which I am so lucky to see:
All-Blacks vs. France. I would have gone to any match the AB would have played at home while I am here, but seeing them here against France will be great! For this, need to get equipped, so I buy a shirt and a flag, a minimum! ;)
Go there with Pierre-Jean & Julie, the 2 French met the day before.
Although we lost... I enjoyed the game and atmosphere of this famous Eden Park stadium. The after-party was also really good :)
