What is this blog for?

Yes, I am lucky enough to realize one of my dream: doing a world-tour traveling Eastward, crossing about 20 countries during 7 months :-))
This blog tries to share part of this personal experience, through pictures, descriptions and thoughts. This is also to keep a track for me to remember later on ;)
Enjoy and do not hesitate to comment!

Victoria Falls, Zambia side

So, after 3 weeks of road trip through Southern Africa, and about 4 weeks in Africa, I am approaching 1 key milestone / goal: the famous Victoria Falls.
This will also be the end of the road trip, it will feel weird to get back to the trip "alone", even though I am definitely looking forward to keep touring the planet.

Before to get into the Vic Falls park, everyone warned us... be ready, you are gonna be wet, watch out your clothes and electronics. Ok, well noted, I'll dress in swimsuit, take a dry-bag for the camera and grab the waterproof Gopro for the wet part. Let's check the Falls now! :-)
1st, before to even see the Falls, you can hear their noise 100m before... and the 1st view is impressive, revealing this huge amount of water dropping every second.
Victoria Falls is neither the highest nor the widest waterfall in the world, but it is claimed to be the largest. With a width of 1,7Km and height of 108 meters, it forms the largest sheet of falling water in the world.

The mist from the Falls was about 100m high above them when I visited, creating an impressive cloud with many rainbows.

Once we enter the wet part... Well, we understand what people meant. Actually, wet is the wrong word, it is basically a shower you are entering, with heavy rain jets coming from every direction. In few mn, we are soaked, and can start being in swimsuit, convenient.
It adds quite some fun to the visit, clearly! ;)

With so much mist / cloud, the Falls are visible only from time to time, giving to the tour a nice mysterious side.
It is also very fun to be under the rain or like a shower, while the weather is blue-sky type!

Behind the Falls, things are more quiet, but you still have the huge sound reminding you about what is happening few meters over there.

After this refreshing tour seeing this amazing natural landscape, the group has booked (another) sunset cruise, more commonly called "booze" cruise given it is open bar on the boat ;-° No music though, there is also a way to see animals and we are in a Natural Park!!

Between drinks, we spot few crocodiles, but the focus is not really on them...

Of course, another sunset pic... number 100th probably...

Party time, yeah!
Next day, I have a micro flight (ULM en français) tour above the falls... no camera allowed so cannot share the fantastic perspective which it allowed, but aside this, being like that in the air was quite fun... it really feels like flying :)
